Leonard Fournette, T.J. Yeldon to split carries in 2017?

by Anthony Cervino | Wed, Aug 9th 7:26am EDT

Jacksonville Jaguars beat writer Mike Kaye is reporting Leonard Fournette "will likely split carries" with T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory "early on" the 2017 season. (Mike Kaye on Tiwter)

Fantasy Impact:

Although Fournette is fully expected to emerge as the Jaguars' workhorse back in 2017, reports are suggesting that he'll be eased into the role. Per Kaye, the highly-touted rookie will "split carries" with Yeldon and Ivory. For Yeldon, he is in line to open the year as the team's third down back/ primary receiver out of the backfield. He is an exceptional pass-blocker. For Ivory, he is expected to garner the short-yardage work. From a fantasy perspective, Jacksonville's backfield appears volatile, but it's really not, barring a turnaround from Yeldon, which is unlikely. I'd expect Fournette to be the featured workhorse by the start of the second quarter of the season.
