Marquise Goodwin signs 3-year extension with 49ers

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the 49ers and Marquise Goodwin have agreed to terms on a three-year contract extension that will keep him with the team until 2021. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The extension itself is worth $20.3 million with $10 million in guaranteed money. It's not a bad price for Goodwin, as he stepped up down the stretch and showed real chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo. He finished with 39 receptions for 613 yards and two touchdowns from Week 9 through Week 17, good enough to be fantasy's No. 17 wide receiver during that time. His extension does add some question to whether or not the 49ers pursue Allen Robinson or Sammy Watkins in free agency, simply because they now have Goodwin and Pierre Garcon under contract through 2021. As of right now, Goodwin has the looks of a WR4 in fantasy football, though a big-name free agent signing would certainly derail that.
