Reuben Foster: domestic violence charges dropped

by Alex Johnson | Thu, Jan 3rd 12:43pm EST

The latest domestic violence charges against Redskins linebacker Reuben Foster have been dropped, as originally reported by TMZ. (TMZ)

Fantasy Impact:

The charges stem from a November 24 incident in Tampa the night before a game as a member of the 49ers. San Francisco released him two days later. He was claimed off waivers by the Redskins and quickly placed on the Commissioner’s Exempt list. It was his second arrest on domestic violence accusations in less than a year. Charges were dropped from the earlier arrest when the accuser testified under oath that she fabricated the accusation. That was the same woman who accused him in this most recent incident which, as Foster’s agent told TMZ, may have played a role in these most recent charges being dismissed, citing “issues with the witness’ credibility.” Despite the lack of criminal charges, Foster could still face disciplinary action from the NFL. League spokesman Brian McCarthy said "We are monitoring all developments in the matter which continues to be under review by the league," via Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. As for now, Foster will remain on the Commissioner’s Exempt list until further notice.
