Reggie Begelton makes a strong first impression with Packers head coach

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has been “super impressed” with Reggie Begelton during the virtual offseason program. LaFleur said of Begelton, "We’ve been quizzing these guys quite a bit, and he is repeatedly at the top". Reggie Begelton, who will be 27 years old when the season begins, went undrafted in 2017, and has spent the last three seasons in the Canadian Football League. He had a breakout season in 2019 with 102 receptions for 1,444 yards with 10 touchdowns and was named a CFL All-Star and the Calgary Stampeders nominee for Most Outstanding Player. (ESPN)

Fantasy Impact:

Behind Davante Adams the Packers have a number of wideouts competing for the number two wide receiver spot on the depth chart. While they allowed Geronimo Allison to depart the Packers brought in Devin Funchess and Reggie Begelton in the offseason to compete with returnees Allen Lazard, Jake Kumerow, Marquez Valdes-Scantling, and Equanimeous St. Brown. Begelton will probably need to follow up his strong virtual performance with strong on-the-field practices, but there is potential for him to see quite a number of snaps this season if the situation breaks favorably for him in the weeks and months to come. Fans would be wise to keep an eye on this depth chart battle as we head into the summer months.
