New Seahawks RB Carlos Hyde underwent surgery in February to repair a torn labrum that was re-injured in the playoff loss to the Chiefs last season. (Mike Silver on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The former Texans RB apparently played through the injury for the majority of the 2019 season before exacerbating it in the playoffs. Hyde played all 16 games and rushed for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his seven-year career last year with Houston, which shows a lot of courage and perseverance if he was really hurt the entire season. With Chris Carson and Rashaad Penny both recovering from their own injuries, Hyde is being brought in as a veteran back to shoulder the load should both guys miss time. He’ll likely be used in a complementary role to Carson to begin the season as Penny has been rumored to likely start the year on the PUP list.
