Earl Thomas, who is visiting with the Texans after being released by the Ravens on August 23rd, is likely to sign with the Texans this week. Thomas would need to pass COVID-19 testing protocols before he can sign. This situation is developing quickly. Look for more updates before the Texans' game this week. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Thomas would be an immediate improvement for a Texans defense that ranks dead last in rushing yards allowed per game and fourth to last in points allowed per game. The Texans rank third in total passing yards allowed per game but only because teams would rather run against them than pass. Thomas played 942 snaps for the Ravens last season and ranked fifth with 0.17 yards allowed per coverage snap. Even with Thomas, owners can fade the Texans defense in standard redraft leagues for now.
