49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters Thursday that TE George Kittle (foot) will play in Week 16 Saturday against Arizona. (Matt Barrows on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Wow, this could be huge for patient Kittle fantasy managers who have been able to stash him on IR. Sounds like he’ll play and he should be started as a top-5 TE in a great matchup, regardless of who plays QB for the 49ers. Shanahan did tell reporters that Kittle would be on “somewhat of a pitch count” but coaches have said that before and the players, like Austin Ekeler, have gone on to play a full set of snaps. He also said Kittle is one of the healthiest players they’ve got at the moment. Unless you have Travis Kelce or Darren Waller, consider starting Kittle in your championship matchup.
