Carl Lawson suffers season-ending injury in practice

New York Jets defensive end Carl Lawson tore his achilles during practice on Thursday and after tests were conducted, it has been determined he will miss all of the 2021 season. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Losing Lawson is a huge blow to a Jets defense that was already lacking bright spots. The Jets defense wasn't going to get looks in fantasy prior to Lawson's injury, but now it's unlikely it can even be streamed against certain matchups. It'll be interesting to see how the Jets' new head coach Robert Saleh adjusts as he figures out a way to match the stout defense he led in San Francisco in years prior.
