Tom Pelissero with NFL Network is reporting that Robert Tonyan tore his ACL in Week 8's Thursday Night game against the Cardinals. That injury will end his season. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
After a breakout campaign in 2020, Tonyan, an undrafted free agent, will end his follow-up campaign just less than halfway through the year. Tonyan was a big part of the Packers' passing attack in Thursday's game before getting hurt. He hauled in three-of-four targets for 39 yards before going down on a catch-and-run. With Tonyan out for the year, expect Marcedes Lewis and Josiah Degura to see some extra opportunities. Lewis's role seems heaviest near the end zone, but Degura saw and caught both of his targets after Tonyan left the game. His skillset is similar to Toyan's and he's worth a pickup in deeper leagues.
