According to Adam Schefter, 49er's RB Elijah Mitchell is nursing a hamstring injury that likely will prevent him from playing in the preseason. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Mitchell emerged as a fantasy football revelation as a rookie in 2021, and reports out of camp have him pegged as the clear-cut No. 1 RB for the 49ers heading into the upcoming season. So any sense of discomfort Mitchell is dealing with in terms of his hamstring will undoubtedly be treated with the utmost precaution. It's been reported Mitchell is expected to be ready to suit up for the start of the regular season, so barring any setbacks, fantasy managers can breathe a sigh of relief. When healthy, the sophomore back should thrive in the 49ers' offense as their RB1 and have the chance to outproduce his current ADP of RB24 substantially.
