Brock Purdy has 'earned the right' to start for the 49ers per GM John Lynch

49ers GM John Lynch said Monday that he feels Brock Purdy has earned the right to start for the 49ers in the 2023 season. (Nick Wagoner on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
"I think Brock has earned the right with the way he played that he’s probably the leader in the clubhouse at that...if we were to line up, he’d probably take that first snap," Lynch said. Purdy led the 49ers one game shy of the Super Bowl this past season, but the 49ers still have a lot committed to Trey Lance. Purdy isn't expected to be ready for the start of the season, so it'll be Lance competing with Sam Darnold for the starting job in Week 1.
