Sam Darnold could compete for the QB1 job

Sam Darnold could complete with Trey Lance for the starting quarterback job while Brock Purdy continues to rehab. (Mercurynews.com)
Fantasy Impact:
While it is likely that either Purdy or Lance opens the season as the 49ers’ starter, Darnold has a chance to enter the competition with a great training camp and OTAs. Darnold will have to prove he is better than his numbers showed in six starts with Carolina last season. The former first-round pick completed 58.6% of his passes for 1,143 yards, seven touchdowns, and three interceptions last season.
