Head coach Ron Rivera stated that they have mic’d up Sam Howell and he has proven he has better command of the huddle. (Nicki Jhabvala on Twitter )

The team is listening in on how the young quarterback calls and breaks the huddle and operates the offense. Howell appeared in one game last season, completed 11-of-19 passes for 169 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in a loss to Dallas. Howell is the favorite to open the season as the starter in Washington.
