Lions WR Marvin Jones Jr. announced today that he is stepping away from football to take care of family matters. The Lions have announced his release. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter )

Jones did not play Sunday as he was attending to a personal matter and will now be a free agent, but is unlikely to return this season. Fantasy managers can move Jones to their league’s waiver wire and pick up another option for the remainder of the season.
