Commanders fire DC Jack Del Rio

Washington also let go of defensive backs coach Brent Vieselmeyer. It has been a long season for the Commanders with the Thanksgiving blowout against the Cowboys being the final straw for Del Rio. Ron Rivera is expected to run the defense for Washington the rest of this season. They are allowing the most points per game as a defensive unit so far this season.
