Chris Johnson, Cardinals discussing contract extension

The Arizona Cardinals have reached out to Chris Johnson to discuss a contract extension. The Cardinals have been impressed with his performance this season, and seem convinced he can continue this success through this season and beyond. Despite the talks, no deal is imminent. Johnson has experienced a career revival this year. His return to stardom has been nothing short of stunning considering he had contemplated retiring over the offseason and had looked like a shell of his former self over the last couple seasons. Entering Week 8, Johnson is the second leading rusher in the NFL with 567 yards on the ground. The Cardinals confidence in Johnson should result in continued fantasy success, including today when Johnson faces a Cleveland defense that gives up an average of over 150 yards rushing per game.
