Mac Jones expected to remain with 49ers in 2026

Jones is under contract in 2026 after signing a two-year deal ahead of the 2025 season. The only reason he would not be on the team was if the 49ers traded him, which seems unlikely based on Shanahan's comments. With Brock Purdy sidelined, Jones proved to be a premier QB2, going 5-3 with 13 touchdowns while battling his own injuries. He could be a top candidate for a starting job in 2027.
