Christian Gonzlez had his fifth-year option picked up by the Patriots on Tuesday which will keep the star cornerback in New England through the 2027 season. (Adam Schefter on X)

Gonzalez has become one of the league's best corners and helped the Patriots get back to the Super Bowl in just his third season. Gonzalez has started 30 games over the past two seasons, earning All-Pro honors in 2024 and a Pro Bowl nod last season. He has totaled 128 tackles, two interceptions, and 21 pass breakups over the last two seasons. Gonzalez added 19 stops, seven pass breakups, and a pick during the Patriots' run to the Super Bowl last season. Gonzalez, who won't turn 24 until June, should be one of the game's best in the secondary for years to come.
