Frank Gore's carries to be 'managed' in 2016

Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star is suggesting that Indianapolis Colts RB Frank Gore will "get the lion's share" of the workload in 2016, but the Colts are "expected to manage his touches" throughout the year. Offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski weighed in on how the team will monitor Gore this season. “I don’t like the word ‘pitch count,’, †Chudzinski said. “But I think the word is that we have to be smart in making sure that we have a rotation that keeps (Gore) fresh and effective throughout the course of the season. What that is in numbers isn’t as important. I think, as a coach, you assess that as you’re going through the course of the season.†(Indianapolis Star)
Fantasy Impact:
Frank Gore is entering his 12th NFL season in 2016 and will be the lead back in Indianapolis. Gore has been on the decline since his final year in San Francisco in 2014 and failed to reach the 1000-yard plateau last season for the first time since 2011.The Colts will once again feature a high-octane passing attack now that Andrew Luck is at full health which can take the load off of Gore. If he can hold up for an entire 16 game slate in 2016, he could be a solid high-to-mid range RB2 in the upcoming fantasy football campaign but don't expect the type of production that he would have given earlier in his career.
