Joe Callahan released by Packers to free up roster spot

The Green Bay Packers cut rookie free-agent quarterback Joe Callahan on Thursday and are expected to make at least one more roster move before they face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday. (Packers News)
Fantasy Impact:
It is unclear at this point who they plan on adding to the roster for this week. Mike Pennel and Demetri Goodson are both returning from suspension this week, and with injuries to the running backs, they may elect to activate Don Jackson from the practice squad. Jackson is a smaller back with good speed, but the Packers may elect to use a mix of Ty Montgomery, Randall Cobb, and Aaron Ripkowski at RB to spell Eddie Lacy if James Starks is unable to go. The Cowboys are averaging over 150 yards rushing per contest so adding Pennel back to the defensive line makes sense, but with injuries to Sam Shields and Damarious Randall at cornerback, Demetri Goodson is also logical. It is possible some more players will be released to make additional room. We will know more when they Packers announce their roster before Sunday's game.
