RB - SEA - Questionable
Week 7 Outlook
Seahawks coach Pete Carroll says RB Alex Collins (groin) will play in Monday's Week 7 game against the Saints.
Collins is officially listed as questionable with a groin injury, but Carroll's comments mean that fantasy managers can feel confident about his status heading into Monday night. Still, with all the injuries in the Seattle backfield and Collins likely to be limited in some capacity, fantasy managers should do what they can to find an alternative option.
Alex Collins remained sidelined at Seahawks practice on Friday.
This is now two straight days in which Collins did not practice after leaving last Sunday's game early against Pittsburgh. Collins will (likely) have to practice in some fashion on Saturday to have a chance at playing in Monday night's game. If he is sidelined, it will likely expand the roles of Rashaad Penny, DeeJay Dallas and Travis Homer against the Saints.
Seahawks RB Alex Collins (hip, glute) has a chance to play in Week 7 against the Saints, per coach Pete Carroll.
Collins was Seattle's lead ball carrier in Week 6 with Chris Carson (neck) currently on IR. However, he exited late in the game against Pittsburgh and will likely be limited in practice this week. Rashaad Penny could also be returning from IR this week, and he could be a fill-in RB2 if Collins can't go. Stay tuned.
Alex Collins took 20 carries for 101 yards and one touchdown in the Seahawks 23-20 overtime loss on Sunday against the Steelers.
Collins helped lead a big offensive outburst in the third quarter, rushing for 76 yards in the quarter alone. He got a little banged up at the end of the game and did not play in overtime, so that will be worth monitoring this week.
With RB Chris Carson ruled out, Alex Collins will be getting the start for the Seahawks in Week 6 vs. the Steelers.
Collins was disappointing in his first game in replacement of Carson, and it looks like the deck may be stacked against him in Week 6 as well. He faces a stingy Steelers D/ST on the road, and they'll likely be stacking the box with backup Geno Smith under center. Fantasy managers should temper their expectations to FLEX numbers.
