Alex Collins waived by Ravens
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting the Ravens have waived RB Alex Collins on Friday.
Collins was reportedly arrested following a car accident on Friday which ultimately led to him being waived. However, his declining play and role in the Ravens' offense also didn't help. After averaging 4.6 YPC in 2017, Collins opened 2018 as Baltimore's RB1 but didn't last long in his featured role. Averaging 3.6 YPC in 2018, a full yard less than his 2017 mark, Collins lost his job to Gus Edwards and was placed on IR on December 1 with a foot injury. With Collins out of town, plus, the fact that Ty Montgomery and Buck Allen are impending free agents, the only rushers that are currently under contract for the Ravens are Edwards and Kenneth Dixon. Expect Baltimore to bring in outside help to bolster their RB depth chart in free agency and/ or the draft.
