Week 12 Outlook
While Rams head coach Sean McVay declined to name a starting quarterback, Bryce Perkins took first-team reps in practice and is trending towards getting the nod in Week 12.
The Rams have been forced to consider all their options with Matthew Stafford (concussion) ruled out and John Wolford (neck) also working his way back from injury. While Wolford has been cleared to play in Week 12, he may remain on the bench due to his poor play and limited participation in practice. It's possible that we don't receive any more clarity on this situation until the Rams take the field Sunday.
Bryce Perkins is expected to see first-team practice reps this week. If Perkins starts in Week 12, he would be making his first career start.
With Matthew Stafford and John Wolford nursing injures, it makes sense for Sean McVay to prepare Perkins as much as possible. With the Rams’ season likely ending without a playoff berth, they are going to give Stafford as much time as he needs to heal up. Fantasy managers should likely avoid the Rams’ offense with the uncertainty at quarterback right now.
The Los Angeles Rams are listing QB Bryce Perkins as inactive for Thursday Night Football's game.
Perkins, a preseason star, will miss the Rams' season opener. This means the Rams will only have two active QBs heading into their matchup with the Buffalo Bills. QB Matthew Stafford is dealing with elbow issues, and should he need to exit the game, QB John Wolford will be the acting backup.
Rams QB Bryce Perkins completed 23-of-42 passes for 201 yards, to go with nine carries for 50 yards in Saturday night's defeat in Denver.
Perkins was once again under center for the entirety of the game. He registered a similar outing tonight compared to last week versus the Raiders. Perkins will almost certainly serve as the No. 3 QB for the Rams entering the season.
