Cecil Shorts suffers season-ending knee injury

Cecil Shorts suffered a knee injury during Week 13 that is now being reported as a season-ending injury by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Impact

Shorts did not have much of a fantasy impact, but this could affect the Tampa Bay passing game slightly moving forward. It could result in a few more targets spread between Evans, Brate, and other WRs.

Cecil Shorts falls off after solid Week 11 performance

Cecil Shorts finally had a good game in Week 11. Unfortunately, that was short lived. The wide receiver only caught one ball for six yards against the Seahawks on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Shorts has not been very productive outside of Week 11. Too many better options exist to consider rostering Shorts. He is a punt play at best in DFS leagues.

Cecil Shorts hauls in two passes on Sunday

Cecil Shorts saw five targets on Sunday, but only caught two of them. He finished with 38 yards receiving in a blowout victory over the Bears.

Fantasy Impact

This was another disappointing output for Shorts. He now has three catches on nine targets since returning from injury. He just hasn't been consistent enough to trust in any formats. His only value is in 18-team or larger leagues. If his game trends continue, expect three catches on six targets in Week 11. I doubt that happens, but would be funny nonetheless.

Cecil Shorts with one catch on Thursday Night Football

Cecil Shorts caught one of his four targets for 20 yards against the Falcons on Thursday. Shorts has now been targeted four times in each of his last two games. He has two catches for 20 yards this season.

Fantasy Impact

Shorts has only caught two of his 10 targets this season and is not a strong option for fantasy owners. Four targets in back to back games is a good sign, as is the fact that Vincent Jackson is out for the season, but Shorts is nothing more than a throw away bargain option in DFS.

Cecil Shorts does not make the stat sheet

Cecil Shorts was given the nod and started opposite Mike Evans on Sunday. He did not take advantage of the opportunity. In 31 snaps, Shorts was not targeted a single time during the game.

Fantasy Impact

Shorts looked to be the guy to benefit most by Vincent Jackson (knee) going to IR. Instead, Russell Shepard stepped up to fill that roll. Shorts is a guy to keep an eye on, but is not worth an add in most leagues.
