Chase Winovich

The Texans are expected to sign Chase Winovich, reuniting him with Nick Caserio from their time with the Patriots.

Fantasy Impact

Winovich struggled in his lone season with the Browns in 2022, but was a solid pass rusher with New England. In his first four NFL seasons, Winovich has 12 sacks in 53 games. The 27-year-old will provide the Texans’ defense with a pass rush option on a rebuilding team.

The Patriots have traded defensive end Chase Winovich to the Browns for linebacker Mack Wilson.

Both players were draft picks in 2019 and both fill a need for their new homes. The Browns were looking for additional edge pass rush while the Patriots are retooling their linebacker corps.

Winovich is recovering from off-season sports hernia surgery. He appears to be on track and should be ready by the time the season starts. The 25-year-old LB is lifting weights, doing yoga and using a Peloton bike to help with his recovery. Winovich will look to build on his rookie season. He racked up 26 total tackles and 5.5 sacks across 16 games in 2019. Winovich is mainly an option in deep-league IDP formats.
