Clayton Tune waived by Packers

The Packers waived QB Clayton Tune.

Fantasy Impact

Tune drew the start for Green Bay to close the regular season last week. Desmond Ridder took his spot on the playoff roster.

Clayton Tune struggles in first start of season

Clayton Tune completed 6-of-11 passes for 34 yards and ran the ball four times for 23 yards in Green Bay's 16-3 loss to Minnesota in Week 18.

Fantasy Impact

Tune, who was sacked four times for 41 yards, finished the day with -7 net yards passing in his first start since November 5, 2023. Jordan Love, after clearing concussion protocol earlier in the week, was Tune's backup on Sunday so, needless to say, Love will be under center for the Packers in their Wild Card playoff game next weekend.

Clayton Tune to start at QB in Week 18 for Packers

Clayton Tune will get the start in Week 18 for the Green Bay Packers, head coach Matt LaFleur announced and Adam Schefter reported. Jordan Love cleared concussion protocol but, with the Packers locked into the seventh-seed in the NFC, Tune will get the nod against the Vikings.

Fantasy Impact

Tune has appeared in one game for the Packers this season and completed 1-of-4 passes for eight yards and a pick in relief against the Ravens last Saturday. Drafted out of Houston in the fifth round by the Cardinals in the 2023 NFL Draft, Tune appeared in 13 games for Arizona between 2023 and 2024. He made his first career start on November 5, 2023 and dropped a 27-0 setback to the Browns. Tune was 11-of-20 for 58 yards and two picks in his only start to date. If your fantasy league's championship is this week, you can probably avoid Green Bay's quarterback and wide receiver situation.

Clayton Tune wins QB2 job in Arizona

Clayton Tune has won the backup quarterback spot in Arizona.

Fantasy Impact

Tune was in a battle with Desmond Ridder for the QB2 job this offseason, but it appears that he has won the role. The Cardinals are releasing Ridder prior to the roster-cut deadline, so Tune is the last man standing for the job. He won't be fantasy relevant unless Kyler Murray goes down with an injury in 2024.

Clayton Tune starts in preseason finale

Clayton Tune completed 12-of-18 pass attempts for 119 yards and one interception in the Cardinals’ 38-12 loss to Denver.

Fantasy Impact

Tune drew the start in the preseason finale and struggled to drive the Cardinals’ offense into scoring position. With Desmond Ridder in the concussion protocol, Tune could be the backup quarterback heading into Week 1 of the season.
