WR - SF
Week 7 Outlook
San Francisco 49ers Wide Receiver Deebo Samuel caught 3-of-9 targets for 58 yards while adding a rushing touchdown in a 17-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
Samuel once again led the 49ers in targets and yards on Sunday. He was only able to haul in 3-of-9 balls thrown his way as starting quarterback Trey Lance was as inaccurate as expected. Samuel was able to save his fantasy day with a 13-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter though. Through five weeks, the 25-year-old receiver has 548 yards and four total touchdowns. Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) will probably be back under center in Week 7, following San Francisco's bye, which should give Samuel a bump in production.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel hauled in 8-of-12 targets for 156 yards and two touchdowns while adding one yard on the ground in a 28-21 loss to the Seahawks on Sunday.
Samuel led San Francisco in targets for the fourth straight week while grabbing eight balls for 156 yards, his second-highest mark of the season. His first touchdown catch came on a busted coverage play where he was wide open near the sideline. He sprinted 76 yards for the score and was untouched. His second TD grab, an eight-yard strike from Trey Lance, came with less than two minutes in the fourth quarter. It's worth noting that Jimmy Garoppolo injured his calf in the first half and Trey Lance took over under center in the second half. Samuel should be penciled in as a WR1 for a Week 5 title against division rival Arizona, regardless of who is under center for the 49ers. Through four games, he's snagged 28 balls for 490 yards and three touchdowns.
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel caught 5-of-10 targets for 52 yards and no touchdowns in a 30-28 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
Samuel led the 49ers in targets but was only able to haul in half of them as he was pretty well covered by the Packers' defensive backs and Jimmy Garoppolo wasn't necessarily accurate. It wasn't a total dud of a game as he was still able to notch 52 yards. He and George Kittle should continue to be featured in the 49ers' passing game moving forward and have a plus matchup in Week Four against the Seahawks' porous secondary. Through three games, Samuel has hauled in 20-of-30 targets for 334 yards and one touchdown to go along with four carries for eight yards.
San Francisco 49er's wide receiver Deebo Samuel has six catches for 93 yards on eight targets in Sunday's Week Two win over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Samuel led all 49er's receivers in targets, receptions, and yards in the low-scoring affair. His most impressive catch was a 40-yard snag in which he racked up a ton of YAC. No other wide receiver had more than two catches, including Brandon Aiyuk who had one catch for six yards. The 25-year-old Samuel now has 15 grabs for 282 yards and a touchdown through two weeks of the season. He should continue to put up big numbers as long as he remains the top dog in San Francisco's WR room.
Deebo Samuel absolutely lit up the Lions on Sunday. He had 12 targets, 9 catches, 189 yards, and scored a touchdown in the 49ers Week 1 win over Detroit.
It is hard to judge the rest of the season by just one week. However, it is fair to assume that Deebo might be the guy in San Francisco. He looked explosive, quick, and was fantastic in his run after the catch. While it is premature to call him a WR1 at this point, he is looking like an every week WR2/WR3 for fantasy managers, and could be a tremendous value given his ADP.
