Week 3 Outlook
Giants running back Devontae Booker rushed two times for nine yards and caught his only target for two yards in Thursday's loss to the Washington Football Team.
Even with Barkley dealing with a limited workload, Booker has not had much of a role through the first two weeks. Unless there is an injury to Barkley, that is unlikely to change.
Giants running back Devontae Booker rushed four times for seven yards and caught his only target for six yards in Sunday's loss to the Broncos.
Booker is the top backup to Saquon Barkley, who is being eased back into game action by the Giants. But even with Barkley limited, Booker saw just five touches on Sunday.
Giants RB Devontae Booker rushed seven times for 14 yards and added one reception for three yards Sunday night against the Patriots.
Those who were skeptical about the Giants handing Booker solid backup money at the start of free agency appear to be proven correct at this point. Booker has been inefficient with his touches in the preseason and the Giants better hope that Saquon Barkley can stay healthy. While once thought to be a valuable handcuff, there is no doubt that if Barkley goes down, this is going to be a backfield by committee.
Giants RB Devontae Booker rushed six times for 27 yards and a touchdown and caught two passes for an additional 13 yards in Saturday afternoon's loss to the Browns.
With Saquon Barkley working his way back into playing form, Booker has run with the first team in the preseason. Booker's main value will come as a handcuff, and it might be a good idea to take him in the last round of fantasy drafts if you selected Barkley in round one.
RB Devontae Booker rushes three times for 12 yards as the Giants fall to the Jets on Saturday night.
The Giants gave Booker $5.5M in free agency to be Saquon Barkley's primary backup. It's yet to be determined if he will have any standalone value. However, if the Giants choose to ease Barkley into a full workload to start the season, it's within the realm of possibility Booker is fantasy relevant in September.
