Drew Sample
TE - Cincinnati Bengals
2024 Outlook
The Bengals have re-signed TE Drew Sample to a three-year contract extension.
Fantasy Impact
While it is not a major move for the Bengals, it does provide Joe Burrow with another familiar pass catching option heading into the 2024 season. Sample has tallied 621 receiving yards and three touchdowns on 80 receptions in 61 games with the Bengals.
Drew Sample caught three of his four targets for 21 yards in the Bengals' 25-17 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17.
Fantasy Impact
Sample has seen modest involvement in the Cincinnati passing offense of late, finishing with two or more receptions in three of the last five games for the Bengals. The tight end remains a risky option for fantasy managers ahead of a Week 18 clash with the Cleveland Browns.
Drew Sample caught his lone target for 11 yards and a touchdown in the Bengals’ 16-10 loss to the Steelers.
Fantasy Impact
Sample caught the lone touchdown pass from Jake Browning in the second quarter. The 27-year-old has seen his snap share and targets decrease over the last few weeks. Fantasy managers can likely find a better option heading into Week 13.
Drew Sample caught three of his four targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in a 24-18 win over the Bills in Week 9.
Fantasy Impact
Sample had his best game of the year as he came into Week 9 with just three total catches for 10 yards. The Bengals emphasized getting the ball to their tight ends in Week 9 as Sample, Tanner Hudson, and Irv Smith Jr. combined to catch 10 passes for 101 yards and two touchdowns. Sample will look to stay hot in Week 10 against the Texans.
Drew Sample had surgery Thursday in his knee and Zac Taylor says he’ll go on IR soon.
Fantasy Impact
Sample injured his knee in Week 2 against the Cowboys where he was primarily utilized as a blocker up to that point. Hayden Hurst should continue to play an every down role for the Bengals.
