QB - SEA
Week 13 Outlook
Per the official team media page, the Colts have waived rookie QB, Jacob Eason.
After being ruled inactive over the past few weeks, the Colts have decided to waive rookie draft pick, Jacob Eason. The rookie played in one game and recorded 25 passing yards, zero touchdowns, and threw one interception in less than a half of play. He will likely go unclaimed on waivers and head to free agency.
Colts quarterback Jacob Eason is inactive for the team's Week 4 matchup against the Dolphins in Miami.
Eason is inactive as a healthy scratch because Brett Hundley has emerged as the top backup to Carson Wentz.
Jacob Eason completed 2-of-5 passes for 25 yards and an interception in the Colts Week 2 loss to the Rams by a 27-24 score.
Eason came into the 4th quarter with Carson Wentz knocked out the game with an ankle injury. The 23-year-old QB threw a costly interception and could not help the team to victory. Eason will start in Week 3 against the Titans if Wentz is not able to go.
Jacob Eason went 15-for-21 for 183 yards and also had one rush attempt for two yards in the Colts preseason win.
Eason looked good in their win and was very efficient with his throws. Wentz is on track to start Week 1. But if he has any setback, Eason is likely to get first crack at the starting job.
Indianapolis Colts HC Frank Reich says QB Jacob Eason will start for the team's first preseason game against the Carolina Panthers, per Mike Wells of ESPN.
Reich also pointed out that Eason will split first-team reps with rookie QB Sam Ehlinger leading up to the game. The job is currently Eason's, but it's clear the Colts are open to Ehlinger winning a spot if he can impress in preseason. This week's game will be our first opportunity to watch Eason play after being drafted by the Colts in the fourth round in 2020.
