Jaleel McLaughlin is being non-tendered by the Denver Broncos and will become a free agent.
Fantasy Impact
McLaughlin went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft despite finishing his collegiate career as college football's all-time leading rusher with 8,155 yards between Division II Notre Dame College and FCS Youngstown State. McLaughlin signed with the Broncos after the draft and has played three seasons in Denver, totaling 1,093 rushing yards and three scores on 226 carries and adding 59 catches for 263 yards and four more scores. He was limited to just eight games last season and will now be looking for a team looking for running back depth this offseason.
Jaleel McLaughlin rushed the ball six times for 41 yards and caught one pass for 17 yards in Sunday's 19-3 win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Fantasy Impact
McLaughlin played pretty well on Sunday. He was efficient in his limited work on the ground and was able to rack up 58 total yards on the afternoon, which helped Denver to pick up a nice win over the Chargers to secure the top seed in the AFC. He will likely continue to play a limited role for the Broncos in the postseason, but after that he will be a restricted free agent, so it's unclear what his future holds.
Jaleel McLaughlin gained 40 yards on seven carries in Thursday's win over the Chiefs.
Fantasy Impact
McLaughlin has been effectively playing the part of the spell RB over the last two games, gaining 77 yards on a dozen carries. His fantasy upside is significantly capped by his usage, however. McLaughlin's only real value right now is as a handcuff to rookie RJ Harvey.
Jaleel McLaughlin rushed the ball five times for 37 yards in Sunday's 34-20 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Fantasy Impact
McLaughlin played a depth role for the Broncos on Sunday. He ended up with 37 yards on five carries, but he wasn't able to do much outside of that, which left him with a limited fantasy total. He will continue to serve as a complementary piece behind rookie RJ Harvey for the foreseeable future.
Relegated to a distinct background role, Jaleel McLaughlin saw minimal opportunity in Sunday's victory over Green Bay, logging just nine of the team's 68 offensive snaps. The 25-year-old was barely involved on the stat sheet, converting two carries into four yards while watching starter RJ Harvey command 46 snaps.
Fantasy Impact
The heavy workload disparity cements McLaughlin's current status as a pure insurance option with no standalone fantasy viability. He will look to carve out a role in Week 16 when the Broncos host the Jaguars.
