Week 8 Outlook
The Lions are not expected to extend a fifth-year tender to linebacker Jarrad Davis, which will make him a free agent after the 2020 season.
2017's 21st overall pick and Lions team captain will hit free agency prior to the 2021 season. Davis has started in all 41 games since being drafted out of Florida but had his 2019 season cut short after an ankle injury landed him on IR. He's been a bit up and down throughout his first three seasons, sometimes looking out of his element and other times looking like the Lions' best player. Davis's upside and potential will certainly make him a hot target after this season.
Jarrad Davis finished Sunday’s loss to Washington with eight total tackles (six solo) and his second sack of the season.
Davis is second on the team in total tackles with 56 through Week 12. During that time period, he has two sacks and three forced fumbles. He should only be played in deeper IDP leagues and for certain in Week 15 against the Buccaneers.
Jarrad Davis finished Sunday’s 31-26 win over the New York Giants with four solo tackles, one sack, and a forced fumble. The forced fumble led to a touchdown by fellow Lions teammate Devon Kennard.
Davis is currently tied for fifth on the team in total tackles with 26 through Week 8. He can be left on waivers in redraft leagues. In deeper dynasty leagues, Davis is worth rostering for future seasons.
Jarrad Davis finished Sunday's 31-0 win over the Packers with seven total tackles, and a sack.
Davis finished his 2018 campaign with 99 total tackles, six sacks, and one forced fumble. He ended the regular season leading the Lions in total tackles and was third in sacks. Davis is a low-end LB1 in most formats and should continue to shine as the inside linebacker for the Lions next year.
Jarrad Davis finished Sunday's 20-19 win over the Panthers with six solo tackles and his fourth sack of the season.
Davis is by far the leader on the team in tackles with 63 in total through Week 11. He also has four sacks and one forced fumble to his name. Davis is an LB2 in most leagues and presents IDP owners with a consistent floor every week. He is worth rostering, especially in Dynasty leagues.
