Jayden Daniels
QB - Washington Commanders - OUT
Availability
Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the rival Giants, according to head coach Dan Quinn.
Fantasy Impact
Daniels aggravated his elbow injury in Sunday's shutout loss to the Vikings and was not medically cleared to play against the Giants in Week 15. While his elbow is not structurally damaged, it wouldn't be surprising to see the 3-10 Commanders sit Daniels for the remainder of the season. Marcus Mariota will make his seventh start of the season in place of Daniels Sunday.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Jayden Daniels's elbow is "sore" but there's no long-term concerns.
Fantasy Impact
Quinn declined to say whether Daniels will play Sunday. It would be a bit of a surprise if he played in Week 15.
Jayden Daniels completed just 9-of-20 passes for 78 yards and a pick while also running four times for 16 yards in the Commanders' 31-0 shotout loss to the Vikings.
Fantasy Impact
It was a rough return for Daniels, who was knocked out of this game with an elbow injury. It appeared that he could have come back in, but Washington decided to hold him out in favor of Marcus Mariota for the sake of his long-term health. Pending his injury status, he will look to have a better outing against the Giants.
Commanders QB Jayden Daniels (elbow) is questionable to return Sunday.
Fantasy Impact
Daniels was hit hard while chasing down an interception to prevent a touchdown return and landed hard on his left elbow. He was making his return after suffering a dislocated left elbow, so there is already concern as soon as he came up holding his left elbow. Marcus Mariota is now in at quarterback against the Vikings.
Jayden Daniels (elbow) will start for the Commanders in Week 14 against the Vikings.
Fantasy Impact
Daniels return lifts the entire Washington offense. With the return of Terry McLaurin last week, Daniels has his full complement of weapons at his disposal and is locked in QB1 for what could be a tough matchup against a tricky Vikings defense.
