Fantasy Impact
Out since Week 2, McCarthy will make his return to the Vikings' huddle this Sunday. The Vikings went 1-1 with last year's 10th-overall pick running the offense, as McCarthy passed for just over 300 combined yards with a 2-3 TD/INT ratio across Weeks 1 and 2. He added 50 yards and a TD on the ground.
Vikings coach Kevin O'Connell said J.J. McCarthy is healthy and expected to have a full week of practice.
Fantasy Impact

J.J. McCarthy (ankle) is on track to return in Week 9 against the Lions.
Fantasy Impact
McCarthy missed his fifth straight game Thursday night due to an ankle injury, as he has not been active for the Vikings since all the way back in Week 2. The 10th-overall pick in last year's draft seems to be headed toward a return in Detroit next week, however. Veteran backup Carson Wentz has not been able to consistently move the Vikings' offense, so getting McCarthy back in the huddle will be welcome, as the franchise needs to see how much he can progress the rest of the way this season.
