RB - LAC
Week 12 Outlook
Chargers RB Joshua Kelley caught two passes for four yards and rushed four times for -2 yards in the Chargers' Week 11 win over the Jets.
Kelley's role in the offense continues to take a nosedive as he's now played behind Kalen Ballage in three straight games. Fantasy managers can leave him on waivers since he's no longer a part of the Chargers' game plan heading into Week 12.
Chargers RB Joshua Kelley rushed seven times for 21 yards in the Chargers' Week 10 loss to the Dolphins.
Kelley has fallen out of favor in the Chargers backfield as he's now ceded carries to Kalen Ballage in the past two games. Fantasy managers in redraft leagues can safely drop Kelley since he's no longer atop the depth chart. Fellow Chargers RB Austin Ekeler is also on the verge of returning to the rotation, capping Kelley's fantasy upside for the remainder of the season.
Chargers RB Joshua Kelley rushed for 28 yards on nine carries and added five receptions for 31 receiving yards in the Chargers' Week 9 loss to the Raiders.
Fantasy managers who own Kelley were probably thinking he'd be unleashed once Justin Jackson left the game in the Chargers' first series. However, that was not the case. Enter Kalen Ballage - that's right, the guy who was recently cut from the Jets and one of the worst backs in the NFL for the Dolphins last season. Kelley still mustered 28 yards on the ground and 31 yards through the air, but he was out carried and outgained by Ballage. Kelley is still worth owning in all leagues, but temper expectations as Ballage may have crept ahead of Kelley on the depth chart. The Chargers take on the Dolphins in Week 10.
Los Angeles Chargers RB Joshua Kelley rushed seven times for 32 yards and caught one pass for -7 yards in the Chargers' Week 8 loss to the Broncos.
Kelley was clearly behind Justin Jackson in the pecking order on Sunday as he was basically phased out of the passing game and received fewer carries than Jackson (17) and Troymaine Pope (10). The Chargers backfield is tough to predict as Kelley led the Chargers in snaps and carries last week so fantasy managers are probably best treating Kelley as a low-end RB3 against the Raiders in Week 9 with Jackson having the hot-hand at the moment.
Los Angeles Chargers rookie RB Joshua Kelley totaled 53 yards in a 39-29 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He rushed 12 times for 29 yards and added five receptions for 24 receiving yards.
Kelley led the Chargers backfield in rushes and out carried Justin Jackson 12:5 on Sunday. However, both Kelley and Jackson were involved in the passing game, with Jackson receiving six targets and Kelley getting five. The Chargers RBBC backfield will continue in the absence of Austin Ekeler and Kelley didn't do enough in this game to separate from Jackson. Fantasy managers should consider Kelley an RB3/low-end flex next week versus the Denver Broncos.
