Kyle Lauletta signs with Eagles practice squad

Quarterback Kyle Lauletta, who was released by the New York Giants on Saturday, is signing a deal with the Philadelphia Eagles to join their practice squad, according to his agent.

Fantasy Impact

Lauletta was a fourth-round draft pick a year ago, but he was not part of the long-term plays in New York after they drafted Daniel Jones in the first round a few months ago. The Eagles have three quarterbacks on their active roster in Carson Wentz, Josh McCown, and the injured Nate Sudfeld, but it's possible that only Wentz is on the roster next year.

Kyle Lauletta cut by Giants Saturday

Second-year quarterback Kyle Lauletta was released by the New York Giants on Saturday, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero on Twitter.

Fantasy Impact

Lauletta was a fourth-round draft pick last season but was on the roster bubble after the Giants selected Daniel Jones in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Kyle Lauletta arrested for traffic violation on Tuesday

Giants beat writer Matt Lombardo is reporting QB Kyle Lauletta was arrested early Tuesday morning for an alleged traffic violation in Weekhawken, NJ.

Fantasy Impact

Per reports, Lauletta was arrested on his way to the Giants practice facility on Tuesday morning. Per a witness, Lauletta was blatantly disobeying a police officer's orders while nearly hitting the civil serviceman with his vehicle. If Lauletta is not immediately disciplined by the league or the team, there is a chance he might make an appearance in Week 10 due to the horrendous play of Eli Manning, who has clearly lost it. The Giants have their bye in Week 9 to sort all of this out.

Kyle Lauletta selected 108th overall by Giants

The Giants select Richmond QB Kyle Lauletta with the 108th overall pick.

Fantasy Impact

Coming into the draft, many thought the Giants would add a QB early to perhaps succeed Eli Manning. However, they elected to go ahead and upgrade RB with Saquon Barkley and finally addressed quarterback in the fourth with Lauletta. With another unknown in Davis Webb lingering on the roster, look for one of the two to emerge as Manning's immediate backup. And unless the Giants totally fall apart like last season, I doubt we see either one of them takes a meaningful snap in 2018.
