Kyler Murray
QB - ARI
2023 Outlook
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray, who underwent ACL surgery, is not expect to be available by the start of the 2023 NFL season.
Fantasy Impact
Rapoport reports that Murray could miss as much as half the season as he recovers from both an ACL tear and a meniscus. The two-time Pro Bowl QB missed six games in 2022 due to injury, and QBs Colt McCoy and Trace McSorley were the team’s starters in his place. McCoy is still under contract in 2023, and with the Cardinals in need of a head coach, the QB situation is less than ideal.
Kliff Kingsbury told reporters on Wednesday that Kyler Murray underwent successful surgery.
Fantasy Impact
Murray needed an ACL reconstruction and a meniscus repair, so it was more than just a normal ACL tear. The early thought is Murray probably won't be ready for the start of the 2023 season. That was a main reason why Arizona wanted to shut down Colt McCoy for the rest of the season and avoid anymore set backs or injuries.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, QB Kyler Murray will be out for the remainder of the season with an ACL tear.
Fantasy Impact
Murray left Week 14’s contest early with an injury and did not return. MRI confirmed the suspicions that it could be an ACL tear, and Murray will be out for the season. He finished the year with 2,368 passing yards, 418 rushing yards and 17 total touchdowns. QB Colt McCoy will likely start for the Cardinals the rest of the year.
Kyler Murray has reportedly been diagnosed with a torn ACL after the team's initial tests came back following injuring it in the first quarter of Monday's game against the Patriots.
Fantasy Impact
Murray got injured while trying to plant his foot in the first drive of Monday's game, and he had to be carted off. The team did tests on his knee, and the initial results say that he likely tore his ACL. More information will come out in the future confirming the injury and the severity of it, but it's a tough blow for the Cardinals, who will lose their starting quarterback for the remainder of the season and will likely have to look to Colt McCoy to finish out the year for them.
Kyler Murray has officially been downgraded to out after suffering a knee injury.
Fantasy Impact
Murray went down with a non-contact injury and was carted to the locker room. The team is classifying it as a knee injury and they should provide more information on the severity of the injury soon. Colt McCoy has taken over at quarterback.
