Kyler Murray drafted first overall by Arizona Cardinals in 2019 NFL Draft

The Arizona Cardinals drafted Oklahoma quarterback Kyler Murray with the first overall pick in the 2019 draft.

Fantasy Impact

Murray goes to the Cardinals just one year after they drafted Josh Rosen. Rosen is now almost certain to be traded at some point during the draft, possibly even before the first round is over. The Cardinals and their new coaching staff have a lot of work to do in order to rebuild (they drafted first overall for a reason) their roster, but Murray will step right in and have David Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and Christian Kirk as playmakers on the offensive side of the ball.

Cardinals to pass on Kyler Murray with first pick?

The Cardinals may pass on selecting Kyler Murray with the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.

Fantasy Impact

According to a report from Pete Prisco of CBS Sports, the Cardinals may pivot from selecting former Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the first overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. After months of rumors and speculation, the decision not to select Murray would be stunning and cause a strong ripple effect throughout the first round. Arizona could look to trade back and accumulate multiple picks to fill some glaring holes in its roster, or it could stay pat at number one and select a defensive talent such as Nick Bosa. Teams drafting immediately after the Cardinals - 49ers, Jets, and Raiders - would all need to reassess draft strategies, and teams in need of QB help could opt to trade up to select Murray. With the NFL Draft just days away, it seems there are still plenty of surprises in store.

Kyler Murray cancels visit with Redskins

Former Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray has canceled his scheduled visit with the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Impact

Murray, the rumored number-one overall pick in this year’s draft, has decided not to meet with the Redskins. He has already met with the Cardinals and Giants who have the first and sixth picks in this year’s draft, respectively. Murray’s decision not to meet with Washington signifies his belief that he will be selected before the Redskins are on the clock at pick 15.

Kyler Murray to the Cardinals a 'done deal?'

NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline is reporting that Cardinals HC Kliff Kingsbury is telling people at the combine that selecting Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray with the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft is a "done deal."

Fantasy Impact

While whether or not Kingsbury holds any weight in the Cardinals' war room remains to be seen, the fact that he is telling unnamed sources that taking Murray with the top pick in April's draft is a "done deal" will certainly turn some heads. Perhaps this is a smokescreen attempt to drive up the No. 1 overall pick's value in case another team is willing to trade a king's ransom for it. Or maybe this is Kingsbury attempting to be vocal about who he wants taking snaps in his air raid system. With Pauline's report stating that the Redskins have shown interest in trading for Josh Rosen roped in the mix, it seems like the pieces are falling into place for a deal to get done if that's what the Cardinals ultimately decide to do.

Kyler Murray will meet with Cardinals at combine

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports Kyler Murray is scheduled to meet with the Arizona Cardinals this week.

Fantasy Impact

It’s notable because Arizona holds the first pick in the draft, but they already have Josh Rosen. Ralph Vacchiano of SNY reports the Cardinals are targeting the Heisman winner in the upcoming draft. Many believe Murray is a perfect fit with new Cardinals coach Kliff Kingsbury.
