Melvin Gordon III
RB - DEN
KOA NewsRadio's Benjamin Allbright appeared on The Underdog Football Show With Josh Norris Monday, saying "I think [Melvin Gordon] is a one-year player for the Broncos. At his cost, I think he's the feature back this year - If you look at Pat Shurmur offenses, he prefers that bell-cow - but I do think they are seriously looking in the draft at running backs as well."
Allbright added, "They were pleased with Melvin in the back half of the season. They just didn't really care about that first half of the season with the fumbles and [the DUI]." Allbright is asked about Gordon at the 39:50 mark of the podcast. He confirmed Gordon's DUI case was adjudicated, though. The back totaled 215 carries for 986 rushing yards and nine touchdowns last season. He totaled 32 receptions on 44 targets for 158 receiving yards and a touchdown, as well.
DUI charges against Broncos RB Melvin Gordon III have been dismissed due to evidentiary concerns.
Gordon was arrested back in October for going 25-39 mph over the speed limit while intoxicated. It remains to be seen how the NFL will react to the incident.
Melvin Gordon III rushed 26 times for 93 yards and a score while adding four receptions for 17 receiving yards in the Broncos' 32-31 loss to the Raiders in Week 17.
Gordon III had a successful first season with the Broncos, finishing with 1,054 total yards (986 rushing, 158 receiving) and 10 total touchdowns (nine rushing, one receiving). He even achieved the second-highest yards per carry of his six-year career, with 4.6. He'll be 28 next season, and if he gets some good quarterback play, he could sustain his RB2 status going into the 2021 season.
Broncos RB Melvin Gordon III rushed for 79 yards on 16 carries in the Broncos' 19-16 loss to the Chargers in Week 16.
Gordon was not involved in the passing game but soaked up over 72% of the RB carries with Phillip Lindsay missing Sunday's contest. Gordon has been the best back for Denver this season and, in what looked like a head-scratching contract, ended up working out well given his production. Gordon is now up 1,034 total yards this season with nine touchdowns through 14 games played this year.
Broncos RB Melvin Gordon III rushed 11 times for 62 yards and two touchdowns and added four receptions for 20 receiving yards in the Broncos' 48-19 loss to the Bills in Week 15.
Gordon fought through a lingering shoulder injury and was the most efficient and effective player for Denver in Week 15. He and Noah Fant were the only skill positions to amass over 50 yards of offense. Gordon's touchdowns came in the second quarter on a 10-yard run and a garbage time 8-yard score late in the fourth quarter. Gordon hadn't scored in his past three games so he picked a great time to come alive in the semi-finals of most season-long formats. Gordon can be trusted as an RB2 heading into Week 16 against the Chargers.
