Melvin Gordon busts in divisional round

Melvin Gordon rushed nine times for 15 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers' 41-28 divisional round loss to the New England Patriots.

Fantasy Impact

Gordon also caught a pass for 11 yards, totaling just 26 yards on the afternoon. He salvaged his fantasy day with a short TD, however. Gordon was playing on two bad knees and consistently ran into brick walls, which is a terrible combination for a running back. It's a disappointing finish to an otherwise great season for the 25-year-old. Gordon will be a no-brainer first round pick in fantasy drafts next season.

Melvin Gordon (knee) doesn't practice Wednesday

Melvin Gordon (knee) did not practice on Wednesday.

Fantasy Impact

Gordon is dealing with injuries to both his knees and one of his ankles. He's still expected to play versus the Patriots on Sunday, however. It's unlikely Gordon will get his usual workload if he plays, which makes him an easy fade in DFS this weekend.

Melvin Gordon (knee) expected to play versus Patriots

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports Melvin Gordon (knee) is expected to play on Sunday versus New England.

Fantasy Impact

Gordon's effectiveness could be somewhat limited, however. Rapoport adds he is dealing with a "little" knee sprain. Gordon left Sunday's game versus the Ravens but was able to return. We should have an update on the 25-year-old later this week.

Melvin Gordon scores despite knee injury

Melvin Gordon rushed 17 times for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Chargers' 23-17 wild card win over the Ravens.

Fantasy Impact

Gordon also caught one pass for an additional three yards. He missed some time with a knee injury early in this one but continued to play in the second half. It's not expected to keep him out of next week's game with the Patriots, but it's something to monitor as it could limit his effectiveness.

Melvin Gordon 'declares' himself ready for Wild Card Round

Pro Football Talk is reporting Chargers RB Melvin Gordon (ankle) "declared" himself good to go for Sunday's Wild Card Round tilt against the Ravens.

Fantasy Impact

Gordon injured his ankle late in the Chargers' season finale win over the Broncos. However, since the injury is not said to be a serious one, the ailing running back told the press he is ready to go for Sunday's matchup in Baltimore to face a Ravens defense that sits as one of the league's elite defensive units. Gordon, who put up a pedestrian 54 total yards and a touchdown on 15 touches back in Week 16's encounter with the Ravens -- a loss -- will look to build on his regular season performance and attempt to lead the Chargers to a postseason win. Sunday will be Gordon's first career playoff game.
