Broncos beat writers Ryan O'Halloran and Kyle Newman expect Melvin Gordon to be the team's Week 1 starter.
As expected. The Broncos signed Gordon to a two-year, $16 million deal this offseason and will want him to carry the load. Philip Lindsay will still mix in, however, but he's best viewed as the 1B to Gordon's 1A.
RB Melvin Gordon is now officially a member of the Denver Broncos after his free agent deal from back in March officially processed Monday with the NFL.
Denver waited until April 27 at 4:00 PM to officially process the Gordon signing so as to not have it count against the Broncos compensatory picks formula. Strategic move on their part - and now Gordon can officially get to work with his new team. He’s currently ranked #21 in the FantasyPros consensus RB rankings.
Former Chargers RB Melvin Gordon has agreed to a two-year, $16M deal with the Denver Broncos. $13.5M is guaranteed.
Gordon stays in the AFC West and heads to a division rival. He’ll look to create a thunder and lightning backfield tandem with RB Phillip Lindsay. It looks like RB Royce Freeman could potentially be the odd man out in the Denver backfield. There’s no denying that Gordon has all the talent in the world, but he underwhelmed in 2019 with the Chargers in an injury-riddled year. He only rushed for 612 yards on 3.8 yards per carry. He still managed to find the end zone nine times, salvaging his “down-year.” Gordon will look to bounce back in 2020 with the Broncos, and both he and Lindsay should be considered RB2s for fantasy purposes.
More details on this news will be available soon.

The Buffalo Bills have contacted Melvin Gordon’s representatives, and there’s mutual interest on both sides, per Buffalo’s Beat Reporter Matt Parrino.
Gordon has been linked to a few teams, but the Bills have the speculated the most interest so far. With the addition of Stefon Diggs, the Bills are looking to add more weapons for Josh Allen. Gordon logged 110 carries for 612 yards and eight touchdowns across 12 games for the Chargers in 2019. If Gordon does land in Buffalo, this would significantly decrease the value of current starter Devin Singletary. Tampa Bay is also being considered as another landing spot for Gordon, but for now the Bills are the only team that reportedly reached out.
