Michael Wilson expected to play role as Z-receiver

Cardinals coach Mike LaFleur said Michael Wilson will play the Puka Nacua role, “closer to the core,” as the Z-receiver.

Fantasy Impact

LaFleur has spent the past three years as the Rams offensive coordinator and figures to bring a lot of what he learned under Sean McVay to the Cardinals offense. Wilson is expected to line up off the line of scrimmage which will allow him to move more freely. Wilson exploded last season when Marvin Harrison Jr. missed time. The question remains what his production will be heading into a full season with Harrison healthy, but he should be put in a more favorable situation.

Michael Wilson totals 78 yards Sunday

Michael Wilson caught 5-of-10 targets for 78 yards and a touchdown in the Cardinals 37-14 loss against the Bengals.

Fantasy Impact

Wilson led Arizona in receiving on the day. He opened the scoring for the Cardinals on an impressive touchdown down the sideline where the Bengals missed multiple tackles. With Marvin Harrison Jr. (heel) leaving Sunday's game early, Wilson could close the season strong in Week 18 against the Rams.

Michael Wilson finds end zone Sunday

Michael Wilson caught 2-of-3 targets for 52 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-19 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

Fantasy Impact

It was disappointing to see Wilson only finish with two catches on Sunday, but he was still able to total over 50 yards and a touchdown against the Falcons, which saved his day from a fantasy perspective. He has been a strong fantasy option recently, but it's hard to know whether or not to trust him in next week's game against the Bengals.

Michael Wilson snags touchdown in loss

Michael Wilson caught 5 of 11 targets for 54 yards and a score in the Cardinals' 40-20 loss to Houston.

Fantasy Impact

Wilson had his first non-100-yard game with Marvin Harrison Jr. out of the lineup and Jacoby Brissett at QB. He struggled to get things going against a tough Houston defense, but he made it work and snagged a touchdown to save his fantasy day. He's a nice option for fantasy regardless if Harrison returns for Week 16 or not.
