Mychal Rivera

ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting former Oakland Raiders tight end Mychal Rivera and the Jacksonville Jaguars have agreed to terms on an undisclosed deal.

Rivera, who spent the first four years of his career in Oakland, signed with the Jaguars Wednesday. After showing promise in 2014 with a 58-534-4 stat line, Rivera's production has significantly regressed in each year since then. He finished with only 18 receptions for 192 yards and a touchdown in 13 games last season. Since Jacksonville traded Julius Thomas to the Dolphins earlier in the offseason, the Jaguars have an opening at tight end, which Rivera could fill to open 2017.

Mychal Rivera caught all three of his targets for 36 yards and a touchdown. His longest went for 27 yards.

Rivera has hauled in 6-of-7 targets for 66 yards with one touchdown on the season. For the season.

Mychal Rivera's availability solidifies Oakland's feelings on Clive Walford. Walford worked his way up Oakland's depth chart as the season progressed and took over the starting job from Mychal Rivera down the stretch. Walford finished the year with 28 receptions for 329 yards and three touchdowns. As Oakland's No. 1 tight end to the 2016 season, he is worth a late-round flier in upcoming fantasy football drafts.

Mychal Rivera failed to make a catch against the hapless Chargers in the Raiders' 23-20 win on Christmas Eve. A penalty called back what would have been a key play at the time.

If you are still in the fantasy playoffs and for some reason are stuck with Rivera, my condolences. The Raiders simply don't utilize their TE slot enough to make any of them a play, and that was evident Sunday against a Packers D that allows the ninth-most fantasy points to the position. Rivera remains a sit even with another good matchup against the Chargers next week.
