TE - FA
This Week Outlook
Nick O'Leary, who joined the Raiders in April, was placed on the NFL's reserve/non-football list rendering him illegible for the upcoming season, and could signal the end of his professional career. It is not immediately clear if O'Leary suffered an injury while working out on his own, or if he simply wants to retire. To fill his place on the roster the Raiders re-signed tight end Paul Butler
O'Leary, who will turn 28 in August, played five seasons in the NFL as a member of four different teams, catching 53 passes for 668 yards with four touchdowns. The Raiders feel quite comfortable with the tight ends they have on roster, most notably: Darren Waller, Foster Moreau, Jason Witten, and Derek Carrier.
Former Jaguars TE Nick O’Leary has signed a deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, per his agency SportsTrust Advisors.
Six-year veteran O’Leary has played for Miami, Buffalo, and most recently Jacksonville in 2019. He hasn’t topped 22 receptions in any year in his career, and is utilized more in the run game. O’Leary will play second fiddle to Darren Waller in the Raiders pass offense, but look for him to provide a level of toughness in the run game.
Nick O'Leary did not see a pass come his way on Sunday as the Jaguars beat the Raiders by a 20-16 score.
O'Leary is listed at the top of the depth chart for the Jaguars but was not utilized in the passing game on Sunday. With 13 catches over 12 games this season, the 27-year-old tight end can be left on the waiver wire by fantasy owners.
Nick O'Leary secured four of five targets for 30 yards and a touchdown in the Jaguars' 45-10 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.
O'Leary is at the top of the depth chart for the Jaguars at tight end and has looked decent with nine catches over his last three games. But O'Leary will not see any more targets than he is getting and can be left on the waiver wire.
Nick O'Leary caught one of his four targets for six yards on Sunday as the Jaguars lost to the Buccaneers by a 28-11 score in Week 13 action.
