Week 5 Outlook
Pat Freiermuth is expected to be out for 2-3 weeks with a hamstring injury.
The tight end suffered his hamstring injury during Sunday's 30-6 loss to the Houston Texans. He wasn't able to return to the game, and further testing has now revealed that he will miss 2-3 weeks because of it. That's not bad, especially considering that the team has a bye week in that period. Rookie Darnell Washington will have an opportunity for more work next week against the Ravens in Freiermuth's absence.
Pat Freiermuth is getting his hamstring scanned on Monday to determine the severity of his injury.
Freiermuth went down during Sunday's game with a hamstring injury of some kind. It's not just a minor issue, and the team is getting it scanned today so they can determine the extent of the injury. Pat Freiermuth caught 3-of-4 targets for 41 yards and one touchdown in Steelers’ 23-18 win over the Raiders.
Freiermuth connected with Kenny Pickett on a 13-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter. Much like the rest of the Steelers’ offense this season, Freiermuth has struggled to get anything consistent going week-to-week. Fantasy managers will have to hope this is a step in the right direction as the Steelers head into Week 4.
Pat Freiermuth caught one pass for two yards on Monday against the Browns.
It was not the best night for Kenny Pickett and the Steelers passing offense. Freiermuth has now posted back-to-back one catch outings, though he was banged up in Week 1. He should not be dropped, but fantasy managers may want to consider starting another tight end over him as a safer route in Week 3.
