Pat Surtain II
CB - Denver Broncos
Week 14 Outlook
Availability
Denver Broncos CB Pat Surtain II returned to full participation in practice on Wednesday as he returns from a concussion.
Fantasy Impact
After being ruled out of Week 7's Thursday night win, a return was expected for Surtain barring any unexpected setbacks given his extended time to recover. The Broncos are set to face off with the Carolina Panthers, and Surtain will likely draw plenty of matchups with a banged-up Diontae Johnson, who has lined up out wide on 82% of his snaps and will potentially be catching passes from QB Bryce Young.
Pat Surtain II (concussion) has been ruled out for Thursday night's game against the New Orleans Saints.
Fantasy Impact
Surtain has been ruled out for Thursday night's game. He's currently in the NFL's concussion protocols, and it's no surprise that he wasn't able to clear them coming off of a short week. This is a better week for him to miss than others, as the Saints will be without their top two wide receivers in Week 7.
Pat Surtain II missed practice on Tuesday.
Fantasy Impact
It was going to be tough for Surtain to clear concussion protocol on a short week. He'll likely be sidelined with Chris Olave (concussion) and Rashid Shaheed (knee) also still sidelined from practice on Tuesday among Saints wide receivers.
Pat Surtain II was sidelined from practice on Monday.
Fantasy Impact
It seems unlikely that Surtain will be able to clear the protocols in time to play on a short week on Thursday against New Orleans. The Saints top wide receiver Chris Olave also missed practice on Monday due to a concussion.
The Broncos and CB Pat Surtain II have agreed to a four-year, $96 million contract extension.
Fantasy Impact
The deal includes $77.5 million in guarantees and makes Surtain the highest-paid defensive back in NFL history. The 24-year-old has 187 total tackles, seven interceptions, and 36 passes defensed over three seasons with the Broncos.
