Surtain is a smooth, lockdown corner that has a very high ceiling in the NFL. He's sticky in man coverage and is able to stick with bigger receivers or smaller and shiftier players alike. Excellent in zone coverage as well. Keeps his hips centered and eyes focused on the QB. Can thrive in any scheme. Excellent change of direction ability. Able to flip his hips with ease and keep up with any receiver in man coverage. Lack of evidence of ball skills on tape. The ball is barely thrown his way. Willing to come down in run support and make a play in the open field. Excellent at wrapping up and finishing the tackle. Smart and instinctive. Able to sniff out screens quickly and get in path to make a play. Tremendous top-end speed for a CB prospect. Should easily run in the low 4.4.'s. Great flexibility and understanding of when to open up his hips and turn and run. Overall, Surtain has a chance to be special in the NFL. Can play in any scheme and has the size to play with much larger receivers. Should be a top-15 pick.
