Quinton Dial

The 49ers are bringing back starting DT Quinton Dial, inking him to a three year deal.

Dial started 15 games last year and has improved his play year over year. He had a decent 73 tackles last season, but his 2.5 sacks are a bit low for a DL to be fantasy relevant. The 49ers are hoping he continues to improve in 2016 and beyond.

Dial is part of the 49ers' youth group prepared to replace the aging stars on their defense. He should be prepared to step in in 2015 but he has no reason to be on your roster this season.

Already looking good in training camp, Quinton Dial made the most of his opportunity in the teams Thursday night matchup against the Ravens. Dial recorded 10 tackles, as well as forcing a fumble from Bernard Pierce and Justin Forsett each.

Fantasy Impact

Not bad for a player who wasn't necessarily expected to start for the Niners this season. Dial is one of the players expected to step up big in the absence of NT Glenn Dorsey, and Thursday was a nice preview of his potential. If he is able to translate preseason success to the regular season, he should help keep the Niners defense a top 5 unit in 2014
