Richie Incognito released from Raiders due to salary cap

Las Vegas Raiders G Richie Incognito will be released from the organization due to salary cap maintenance, as reported by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Impact

Incognito is fully healthy heading into his 14th season in the NFL and will look to remain in a starting role on a team in need of an offensive guard in 2021. The Raiders had one of the best offensive lines in 2020, with Incognito helping to secure the interior alongside C Rodney Hudson. There are a number of teams that need an upgrade on their offensive line, as many witnessed Super Bowl LV and the devastating results that come from starting inexperienced linemen in the postseason.

Richie Incognito to undergo season-ending foot surgery

Raiders OL Richie Incognito is set to undergo season-ending foot surgery.

Fantasy Impact

Las Vegas has had one of the best offensive lines in football this season, but this loss hurts. The 37-year-old is under contract for $6.35 million in 2021. It'll be interesting to see if the Raiders move on from him as there would be no dead money against the cap if they choose to do so. Ultimately, consider this is a slight downgrade for Josh Jacobs.

Richie Incognito retires from the NFL

Bills beat writer Vic Carucci is reporting that offensive guard Richie Incognito will retire from the NFL after playing 150 games since 2006.

Fantasy Impact

Apparently Incognito was upset that the Bills asked him to take a pay-cut, saying "I'm, done. That's it. It's been a long career. Went to the doctor. My liver and kidneys are shutting down. The stress is killing me. It's just about doing what's right. I just want to be in the Hall of Fame." While there has been some off-the-field stuff that may prevent him from getting into the Hall of Fame, Incognito's play on the field was very deserving, ranking among the best at the position for the last decade. This is another knock to LeSean McCoy and the Bills run game, who just lost Eric Wood to retirement and offensive tackle Cordy Glenn to a trade. The Bills offensive line is in clear rebuild mode and should start looking at the possibility of trading away McCoy, who likely has one or two years left.

Richie Incognito considering retirement

SI's Peter King is reporting that Bills offensive guard Richie Incognito is considering retirement.

Fantasy Impact

This would be a massive blow to the Bills offensive line, as Incognito has been a dominant force in the run-game. Not to mention the fact that the Bills lost center Eric Wood to retirement this offseason, and traded away tackle Cordy Glenn to the Bengals. The Bills offensive line that was dominant back in 2016 is starting to look like it'll get a complete overhaul, which would clearly effect LeSean McCoy's efficiency. The good news is that Incognito hasn't retired yet and has talked with the Bills about playing potentially one more season. He's supposed to decide by this Sunday, according to King. We'll keep you posted as we hear more on this developing story.

Bills re-sign Richie Incognito

The Buffalo Bills re-signed G Richie Incognito to a three-year deal worth "roughly" $15 million according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Fantasy Impact

Buffalo made their latest roster move on Tuesday re-signing Richie Incognito. The Bills are keeping their offensive line in tact by making this move and also placing the franchise tag on LT Cordy Glenn earlier in the month. Bills' HC Rex Ryan has a run-first philosophy which is why these transactions are so crucial.
