RB - DAL - IR
Week 4 Outlook
Dallas Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle (hip) suffered a hip injury that has placed him on Injured Reserve (IR), effectively ending his season, per beat reporter Michael Gehlken.
Dowdle has shown flashes in the preseason and would've been the RB3 for the Cowboys behind Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard. Instead, he will miss the season on IR with a hip injury, opening up more opportunities for undrafted rookies Brenden Knox and JaQuan Hardy to play against the Jaguars in Preseason Week 3 and compete for a final 53-man roster spot.
Dallas Cowboys RB Rico Dowdle records eight carries for 43 yards on Thursday against the Steelers.
Dowdle carries the running back room on Thursday for the Cowboys. He carried the ball eight times for 43 total yards while also getting two targets. Dowdle should continue to push to be the Cowboys third string RB behind Tony Pollard and Ezekiel Elliott.
Rico Dowdle made the Cowboys’ 53-man roster and will be third on the RB depth chart behind Ezekiel Elliot and Tony Pollard.
Dowdle signed with the Cowboys as an un drafted free agent and ended up making the 53-man roster. He logged 498 yards and four touchdowns in his senior year at South Carolina. Dowdle will serve as the Cowboys’ RB3 behind Zeke and Pollard.
