The Commanders and standout G Sam Cosmi have agreed to terms on a four-year contract extension.

The second-round guard from the 2021 NFL Draft recorded a 80.6 PFF grade last season and has been one of the few bright spots on the Commanders offensive line over the past few years. The team now locks him in through the 2028 season to provide some protection for the young QB Jayden Daniels.

Cosmi has powerful hands and is a first-team All-Big 12 selection. He’s durable and has started 34 of 35 career games for Texas. Cosmi allowed only two sacks on 339 pass block snaps in 2020. The Texas product instantly improves Washington’s offensive line and projects as a three-down player.
