OT - WAS - OUT
Week 6 Outlook
Expert NoteView More Notes
Cosmi's a rock-solid prospect that plays with a mean streak. He's solid in pass protection, but still needs to clean up a few minor things. He has a tendency to backpedal into his pass sets, which are going to get him in trouble in the NFL. Needs to work on his footwork coming out of his stance. Additionally, he struggles to tie his hands and his feet together to create a solid foundation. When he's engaged with a defender that has active hands, he tends to focus on just fighting off the hands, but his feet then are forgotten about and dormant. If the defender beats him with a swipe move or swim move, his feet aren't in the right position to regain positioning. Has all the tools to be excellent in pass protection, but just needs to shore up a few things. Good in run blocking, but won't be able to cover a ton of ground. Lacks the movability of some of the other top-tier players in this class, so he won't be able to move out on zone runs as much. When he does move, he struggles with hand placement and positioning. Needs to improve in this area. Great length for an OT prospect and able to render smaller defenders useless by rerouting them. Great balance. Typically plays with a rock solid foundation and is very rarely moved off of it. Average athleticism comparative to the other top-tier players in this class, but he's certainly not a statue. He's able to move naturally, but won't be the type of player to lead block on screens, etc. Tough player and plays with an edge. Loves finishing plays on tape and eliminating players. Solid anchor ability and plays with a solid foundation. Overall, a solid prospect that can step in and be a factor right away for an offensive line at LT. However, if he can clean up a couple little things, he has enormous potential.

The Washington Football Team have selected OL Samuel Cosmi with the No. 51 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Cosmi has powerful hands and is a first-team All-Big 12 selection. He’s durable and has started 34 of 35 career games for Texas. Cosmi allowed only two sacks on 339 pass block snaps in 2020. The Texas product instantly improves Washington’s offensive line and projects as a three-down player.
