Sterling Shepard 'longshot' to play Week 7

Sterling Shepard was able to return to individual drills on Monday, but he remains a "longshot" to play Week 7 against the Cardinals due to his concussion.

Fantasy Impact

This is already the second time Shepard is dealing with a concussion this season, which is certainly a concern. He's been good when he's been active, but the return of Golden Tate and Saquon Barkley figure to siphon targets from Shepard when he is able to make it back. However, at this point, it's unclear when the wide receiver will be able to return. Owners in shallower leagues could drop Shepard as needed over the bye weeks.

Sterling Shepard to miss Thursday night's matchup with Patriots

Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard is out for the team's Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football due to a concussion, according to a report from ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Fantasy Impact

Shepard left Sunday's game with a head injury but was cleared and returned to the game, but he showed concussion symptoms when he showed up to the team facility on Monday morning. This is already Shepard's second concussion this season, and he will be out for at least this week and potentially longer as a result.

Sterling Shepard back in concussion protocol

Sterling Shepard is back in the NFL's concussion protocol. This is the second concussion he has suffered this season and he is expected to miss significant time.

Fantasy Impact

Shepard showed up to practice today displaying concussion symptoms to the Giants medical staff. He could be out a while as he recovers from his second concussion. Shepard caught five of 10 targets for 49 yards and carried once for a two-yard loss during Sunday's 28-10 loss to the Vikings. Look for Golden Tate too see in an increase in targets behind Evan Engram while Shepard is sidelined.

Sterling Shepard catches five passes Sunday

Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard caught five of his 10 targets for 49 yards in Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings. He also rushed once for negative yardage.

Fantasy Impact

Shepard's role did not change despite the debut of fellow wide receiver Golden Tate, who had been suspended for the first four games of the season, but he didn't have much success against a tough Minnesota defense. He has another tough matchup on tap as the Giants face off against the Patriots in New England on Thursday Night Football this week.

Sterling Shepard leads Giants in receiving Sunday

Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard caught seven of his nine targets for 76 yards in Sunday's Week 4 win over the Washington Redskins.

Fantasy Impact

Shepard led the Giants in targets, receptions, and yards on Sunday as they easily took care of the struggling Redskins. In three games (he missed Week 2), Shepard has caught 20 passes for 218 yards and one touchdown, though his role might change when Golden Tate returns from his four-game suspension next week.
